Beezus and Ramona

Recently I saw the movie Ramona and Beezus at the new Frank Theater in the Queensgate Mall. The new theater was nice but the movie was even better! Did any of you see the movie, too? It prompted me to reread the book which is actually titled Beezus and Ramona. Did you know that it was published in 1955? I couldn't even read then! I read many of Beverly Cleary's books when I was in elementary school and loved them all. The movie was updated to modern times instead of the old days when the book was written. In spite of that, the book was fun to read. Ramona is a real character. She has quite an active imagination! Beezus, whose real name is Beatrice is a pretty nice big sister overall. I hope you will give one of the Beverly Cleary books a try. If Beezus and Ramona is not checked in, there are at least 30 more Beverly Cleary books to choose from.

Let me hear back from you if you have read this book or any Beverly Cleary books or if you read any other great books this summer. You know I am always working on a booklist of books to order for the school. Maybe I can add some of your suggestions!

If you add a post to this blog, please remember to be polite. It is ok if you disagree with someone about a book. We are all different! Just be certain you are expressing your opinion is a nice way.

Good news! The third grade teachers will accept any postings you do as part of your writing assignments this year. You will need to follow the rubric they gave you for your postings to be acceptable.
